Fucoidan is a form of water soluble dietary fibre that is extracted from the “slimy” portion of seaweeds. The bulk of which is sulfated polysaccharide that is found mainly in various species of brown seaweed such as kombu, limu moui, bladderwrack, wakame, mozuku, and hijiki.
Extensive clinical research has been done on fucoidan, focusing primarily on two distinct forms: F-fucoidan, which is >95% composed of sulfated esters of fucose, and U-fucoidan, which is approximately 20% glucuronic acid.
As a consequence of these studies , U-fucoidan and F-fucoidan are now being marketed as a nutriceutical and food supplement.
The manufacturer guarantees that each bottle contains at least 10 grams of Fucoidan essence (more than 2g per 100cc). This product is manufactured under the supervision of The Okinawa Prefectural Government.
Since its discovery in 1989, over 700 research findings were published worldwide regarding Fucoidan efficacy.
It has been on the highly recommended list of several Japanese researchers and professors, some of them are famous book writers, including but not limiting to: Hiroyuki Abe (阿部博幸) and Shinya, Hiromi (新谷弘实) .

AVA will continue to closely montior and test food imports from Japan.
All the suppliers and retailers including us are working together to ensure 100% compliance.
You might want to visit the AVA’s microsite www.gov.sg/japanquake for more information.
